General

Welcome to Sugarcoat. By purchasing and using our products, you agree to the terms and conditions below. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, please contact us beforehand at sugarcoat.t1d@gmail.com.

Nature of the product

Our products (including armbands, sensor covers, and related accessories) are fashion accessories and protective textile products. They are not medical devices and have no medical function. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, nor are they intended to improve or guarantee the functioning of a sensor or medical device.

No affiliation with manufacturers

Sugarcoat is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by manufacturers of glucose sensors or medical devices (such as Medtronic, Dexcom, or Abbott/FreeStyle Libre, among others). Mentioned brand names are exclusively intended to indicate compatibility or fit and remain the property of their respective rightsholders.

Use at your own risk — sensor attachment

Our products are worn over or near a glucose sensor. Although we test our products for fit and wearing comfort, we cannot guarantee that a sensor will remain in place under all circumstances. Movement, sweating, clothing, individual skin and attachment characteristics, and the way the product is worn can affect the adhesion of a sensor.

As a user, you are responsible for:

  • checking that your sensor is correctly and firmly attached before and while wearing our product;
  • not wearing the product if you notice it lifting, shifting, or detaching the edge of the sensor;
  • continuing to monitor your glucose levels and the functioning of your sensor as prescribed by your sensor manufacturer and healthcare provider;
  • immediately removing the product if you have any doubts, discomfort, skin irritation, or reduced sensor adhesion.

Medical responsibility

We do not provide medical advice. For anything related to your diabetes management, sensor use, or health, rely on the instructions of your sensor manufacturer and the advice of your doctor or healthcare provider. Never change your medical routine based on the use of our products.

Skin and allergies

Our products come into contact with the skin. For sensitive skin, allergies, or previous reactions to textiles or materials, we recommend introducing the product carefully. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and consult a doctor if necessary.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Sugarcoat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our products, including – but not limited to – sensor detachment, shifting, or failure, incorrect or missed glucose readings, or the health consequences thereof.

Nothing in this disclaimer limits or excludes our liability for matters that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory (consumer) law, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness and legal product liability for personal injury. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain fully in effect.

Changes

We may amend this disclaimer from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page.
